In 1998, Internet Colorado began building an
extensive wireless Internet network. The objective was to
provide a fast, reliable alternative to dial up Internet
access for residents. Our expansive network now covers a vast
majority of the Gunnison valley, Crested Butte, Mt. Crested
Butte and Crested Butte South. The main transmitter is located
at the top of Tenderfoot (W) mountain. All that is required to
use our wireless Internet service is line of sight to either
the main transmitter or the various relay points located
throughout the valley.
